Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to the website at www.financebusinessdebt.co.uk. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it, and this page explains how accessible it is, what we have done, what we know still needs work and how to tell us about a problem.

Make a free enquiry

Tell us a little about your business and we will explain the options. No obligation, and enquiring does not involve a credit search.

Please do not include account numbers, passwords or other sensitive details.

Draft for professional review

This page was prepared as a draft and must be reviewed and approved by a suitably qualified adviser, with all bracketed placeholders completed, before the website goes live.

Our commitment

Finance Business Debt is committed to making this website accessible. Our aim is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. On this website you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen;
  • navigate every page using only a keyboard;
  • navigate the site using speech recognition software;
  • listen to the content using a screen reader, including recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver;
  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings.

We have also tried to make the text as plain as possible, and to define financial terms the first time they appear. AbilityNet publishes advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

What we have done

The site has been built with accessibility in mind from the start:

  • Semantic HTML. Pages use proper headings in a logical order, landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), lists and tables with header cells, so assistive technology can describe the structure.
  • Keyboard navigation. Every link, button, menu, form field and expandable section can be reached and operated with the keyboard alone, in a sensible order.
  • Visible focus. The element that has keyboard focus is shown with a clear outline that meets contrast requirements.
  • Skip link. A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page.
  • Colour contrast. Text and interactive elements are designed to meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
  • Reduced motion. The site respects the "reduce motion" setting in your operating system and turns off non-essential animation when it is on.
  • Text resizing. Text is set in relative units and reflows when you zoom or increase your default font size.
  • Native accordion controls. Frequently asked questions and similar expandable sections use the browser's built-in details and summary elements, which work with keyboards and screen readers without custom scripting.
  • Forms. Every field on the enquiry form has a visible label, required fields are marked, and error messages are shown in text next to the field and announced to screen readers.
  • Images and icons. Decorative icons are hidden from assistive technology. Any image that carries meaning has a text alternative.
  • No time limits. Nothing on the site times out or requires you to act within a set period.
  • No autoplay. The site contains no video, audio or animation that starts automatically.

How accessible this website is

We believe the site is largely accessible, but we know that some parts may not yet work well for everyone. Known limitations are listed below.

Known limitations

  • Logo text. The site logo is an image in which the words "Finance Business Debt" are part of the graphic rather than live text. A text alternative is provided, but the text itself cannot be selected, enlarged independently or restyled by user stylesheets.
  • Third-party fonts. The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. If that request is blocked or slow, the site falls back to your system fonts, which may change the layout slightly but not the content.
  • PDF documents. The site currently publishes no PDFs. If any are added, they will be checked for accessibility before publication.
  • Items to be confirmed. A full accessibility audit has not yet been completed. Further limitations may be identified and will be listed here with a target date for fixing them.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

We are considering serving the fonts from our own server, which would remove the third-party request. We will commission or carry out a full audit against WCAG 2.2 AA and update this statement with the findings and the dates by which any failures will be fixed.

How this website was tested

Testing so far has consisted of:

  • manual keyboard navigation checks on each page template, including menus, the enquiry form and the online tools;
  • screen-reader spot checks using NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS and iOS;
  • automated checks using browser-based accessibility testing tools on a sample of pages;
  • colour contrast checks of the design palette.

[To be confirmed: the date of the full audit, who carried it out and the method used.] The site was last tested on 27 October 2026 by the people who built it. A full independent audit has not yet taken place.

Reporting accessibility problems

If you find anything on this site that you cannot use, or if you need information in a different format such as large print or plain text, please email [email protected] with "Accessibility" in the subject line. Tell us the page address, what the problem is and, if you can, the browser and assistive technology you are using. We will reply within 5 working days.

Enforcement

The Equality Act 2010 requires service providers in Great Britain, including private companies, to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people and not to discriminate against them. If you are not happy with how we respond to an accessibility complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which supports people with questions about the Equality Act.

The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to this website, because [[COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME]] is a private company and not a public sector body. We have nevertheless chosen to publish this statement in the format those regulations recommend, because it is a clear and useful way to describe where we stand.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 27 October 2026. It will be reviewed whenever the site changes significantly and at least once a year.
