Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies are, confirms that this website currently sets none of its own, describes the one third-party request it makes, and tells you how to control cookies in your browser.

Make a free enquiry

Tell us a little about your business and we will explain the options. No obligation, and enquiring does not involve a credit search.

Please do not include account numbers, passwords or other sensitive details.

Draft for professional review

This page was prepared as a draft and must be reviewed and approved by a suitably qualified adviser, with all bracketed placeholders completed, before the website goes live.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies can remember your preferences, keep you logged in, measure how a site is used or track you across sites for advertising. Similar technologies include browser local storage, pixels and device fingerprinting. In the UK, the use of cookies and similar technologies is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), alongside UK GDPR for any personal data involved.

Our current position: no cookies

The Finance Business Debt website currently sets no cookies of its own. Specifically:

  • We do not use analytics cookies or any analytics service.
  • We do not use advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies.
  • We do not use browser local storage or session storage.
  • The enquiry form on our contact page submits your details directly and does not store them in your browser.

Because no cookies are set, the site does not display a cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.

The one third-party request: Google Fonts

The site loads two typefaces, Inter and Manrope, from Google Fonts. When you submit an enquiry form, the data is sent to Formspree, our form-processing provider; Formspree does not set cookies on this site. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers. Google Fonts does not set cookies, but like any web request it transmits your IP address and standard browser information to Google, which Google may log. Google's handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy.

We are considering serving the fonts from our own server instead, which would remove this request entirely. If we make that change, this policy will be updated to say so.

Cookies table

The table below lists every cookie the site sets. It is currently empty. The template rows show how future cookies would be described if any were introduced.

Name Category Purpose Duration Set by
Currently: none. This website does not set any cookies.
[Template] Strictly necessary Would be used only where essential for a feature you request, such as remembering a form step. No consent is needed for strictly necessary cookies, but they would be listed here. Session or stated period Finance Business Debt
[Template] Analytics Would measure how visitors use the site. Analytics cookies would be set only after you give consent through a banner. Stated period Named provider

If we introduce analytics in future

We may decide to measure site usage to improve the content. If we do, we will:

  1. Update this policy and the privacy policy before any analytics code is added.
  2. List each cookie in the table above with its name, purpose, duration and provider.
  3. Ask for your consent through a banner before any non-essential cookie is set, as PECR requires. Declining will be as easy as accepting, and the site will work fully without them.

How to control cookies in your browser

Even though this site sets no cookies, you may wish to manage cookies from other sites. Every modern browser lets you view, block and delete cookies through its settings:

  • Google Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies or Site settings.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
  • Apple Safari: Settings (or Preferences), then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data.

Blocking all cookies can stop some websites from working properly. The Information Commissioner's Office publishes general guidance on cookies at https://ico.org.uk/.

Changes to this policy

We will review this policy whenever the site's technology changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
